PCB Assembly - Surface Mount
Our Surface Mount factory contains four lines, giving us a capacity of over 200,000 component placements per hour and the flexibility to produce prototypes through to high volume production batch quantities.
Lines 2 and 3 are our most recent acquisitions and enable us to be the first Contract Electronics Manufacturer in the UK to be able to offer fully-automated assembly of PCBs up to 1300mm x 500mm.
Our machines are capable of placing down to 01005 packages as well as BGAs and fine pitch devices.
We have a humidity and temperature controlled component storage chamber for storing moisture sensitive components.

Our post-reflow 3D and 2D AOI systems inspect every board post Surface Mount.
They are designed to find faults but more importantly provide feedback to refine the surface mount assembly process. They add to your assurance of circuit functionality.

WPS Through-hole technology is deployed in many critical electronic assemblies.
Through-hole technology is deployed in many critical electronic assemblies. It is commonplace in power supplies and ruggedized electronic modules. At WPS we also have specialist expertise and experience of through-hole LED assembly, with a capacity of 30,000 component insertions per hour. Our capability is supported by automated insertion equipment that delivers consistent assembly performance.

Conformal Coating for PCB
Conformal coating protects PCBs from the ingress of dust, dirt and moisture. Today, the needs of special assemblies often demand intelligent coating on selective parts of a board. To meet this challenge, WPS has invested in advanced automatic coating technology. It delivers great precision and throughput rates that cannot be matched by hand application. We also offer manual coating as required.
Resin Encapsulation (potting)
To fully secure an assembly against moisture ingress and destructive mechanical forces such as vibration, encapsulation is the industry’s process solution of choice.

Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
We are able to offer various ATE solutions or custom solutions to meet specific requirements, supported by six trained technicians providing basic power-up to full function tests, allowing customers to ship to use with confidence.
