Mud Box
A marine mud box is a specialised coarse strainer installed in the suction line of seawater systems on board vessels, typically situated before the seawater pump. Its primary function is to filter out large debris such as seaweed, sand, mud, and marine organisms from the seawater intake, thereby safeguarding downstream equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
Key Benefits of a Marine Mud Box
- Protects seawater pumps and piping systems from blockages and potential damage.
- Prevents fouling within cooling, ballast, firefighting, and general service systems.
- Captures large solids that could otherwise pass through the sea chest grating.
We offer a range of marine mud boxes from several leading manufacturers. For specific requirements or inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Reliance RWC 104 Series Pressure Relief Valve 1" x 1.1/4" F x F 8 Bar - PREL104017
The PREL104017 High Capacity Potable Water Pressure Relief Valve is designed to safely discharge water from the system when cold water over-pressurisation occurs in an unvented cylinder. This high-flow valve suits larger capacity systems, protecting them from the risks associated with excessive pressure. The Reliance Valves 104 Series High Capacity Potable Water Pressure Relief Valve features a pre-set and locked pressure setting; if the system exceeds this limit, the valve will lift from its seat, allowing water to discharge safely into the waste system. The outlet connection is one size larger than the inlet, ensuring that the valve can manage a high-capacity discharge effectively. This valve acts as the primary safety device in an unvented system. Various pressure settings are available, ranging from 3.5 to 8 bar, along with multiple connection sizes to facilitate flexible installation.
**Features and Benefits:**
- High-flow design ideal for larger capacity systems
- Quick removal of the single-piece cartridge for easy cleaning or replacement
- Diaphragm design enhances resistance to scale build-up
- Provides essential protection against over-pressurisation
- Diverse connection options allow for versatile installation
- Relief pressure range adjustable from 3.5 to 8.0 bar
- Designed exclusively for cold water applications
Specifications:
- Size: 1" x 1.1/4"
- Connections: BSP Female Inlet x BSP Female Outlet
- Materials: Hot pressed DZR Brass
- Medium: Cold water
- Set Pressure: 8 Barg
- Temperature: +140 °C
- Product Code: PREL104017
Reliance RWC TPR22 Pressure & Temperature Relief Valve 3/4" x 22mm 10 Bar - PTEM575210
The Reliance Water Controls (RWC) TPR22 Pressure and Temperature Relief Valves are compact devices specifically engineered to safeguard unvented hot water systems against the risks of over-pressurisation. This risk arises when the input temperature or pressure controls fail. The valves are designed to be installed at the upper section of a hot water cylinder, where the highest temperatures are present. If the system temperature exceeds 95°C, the wax mixture within the temperature probe expands, lifting the valve off its seat to release water, thereby alleviating the pressure within the cylinder. Furthermore, should the water pressure rise (without a corresponding temperature increase), the valve remains closed until the preset pressure limit is achieved, at which point it opens to relieve the excess pressure. Certain models are equipped with a PTFE coating on the MBSP inlet thread, streamlining the installation process significantly.
Features and Benefits:
- Protects against temperatures exceeding 95°C
- Prevents over-pressurisation
- Twist top cartridge design for straightforward servicing
- A variety of pressure settings and probe lengths available
- Some models feature a PTFE coating for enhanced installation efficiency
Specification:
- Size: 3/4" x 22mm
- Connections: BSP Male Inlet x Compression Outlet
- Materials: Brass
- Medium: Hot water only
- Set Pressure (Set & Locked): 10 Barg
- Temperature Relief: +90 to 95°C
- Discharge Capacity: 25kW
- Probe Length: 95mm
- Product Code: PTEM575210
- Notes: WRAS approved
Ensure your hot water system remains safe and efficient with the RWC TPR22 Pressure and Temperature Relief Valves.
