Case Study Of the 'Spaciotempo'

03 October 2008

The cost effective storage solution is test run by Welded Presswork

Background

Established in 1982, precision engineering firm, Welded Presswork (WPW), manufactures ancillary parts for the automotive, yellow goods, agricultural and materials handling industries.

Requirement

With more orders than its production house anticipated, the West Midlands-based company needed to cost-effectively expand its premises with the addition of a clean and safe environment for the storage of finished goods and engineering components, freeing up space in the main manufacturing plant.

Solution

Spaciotempo supplied a 300m2 temporary unit with steel reinforced UPVC cavity walling and a double skinned air filled roofing system to assist climate control.

Based on a heavy-duty aluminium extruded section, which offers a clean, modern look with remarkable solidity and strength, the unit comes complete with a 10-year guarantee. As the site was not on a level surface, aluminium plates were used to seal gaps at the base of the structure, helping to further strengthen and protect it from the elements.

The facility was specially manufactured for WPW in two weeks and installed within a week of delivery.

Benefit

Speaking about the benefits WPW buyer David said, “We’ve been able to expand our production plant with minimal costs and see the benefits immediately after experiencing a very successful period of business. As part of our continuing enlargement and more projects in the pipeline with a proposed development area of 10,000 sq ft pending planning permission, Spaciotempo has become our first choice supplier for temporary building solutions.”

WPW expects to double its annual profits after being supplied with an extra storage unit from Spaciotempo.
