Environmental Test Chambers with Energy SavinEg System from JB Environmental Engineering Ltd.
The Envisys Environmental Test Chambers supplied by JB Environmental Engineering Ltd are fitted with an Energy Saving System to reduce the electrical power consumed during Use. This energy saving feature significantly reduces the costs of operating the Environmental Test Chamber whilst in use testing your products or materials.
At JBEE we are now able to supply the Envisys Environmental Test Chambers fitted with the new energy saving concept to help our customers to reduce their operational costs and improve their sustainability. The Energy Saving System is fitted to the humidity test chambers and reduces the operation of the compressors to a minimum and shuts down the low stage compressors, so the chambers only operate on the high stage compressor.
Availability of Ambient Energy Saving System
Below are the chambers which are designed with the ambient refrigeration system for energy optimization logic as a standard feature in the PLC program.
- Reach in chambers (mid-range chambers) with humidity option and ramp rate greater than or equal to 10 C/min.
- All walk-in chamber series with humidity option.
- All altitude chambers with humidity option.
- Custom Volume Chambers with Cascade + Humidity.
Working concept
When the dual loop is activated i.e. temperature with humidity, the system automatically prioritizes for optimized refrigerant circuit staging by
- Stopping higher-capacity deep-cool refrigeration systems.
- Activating ambient cool refrigeration system of lower capacity system
Estimated Energy Saving
Energy savings depend on the test profile and site ambient conditions but based on our operating data estimated saving is between 18% to 35% reduction compared to continuous cascade operation.
Example comparison (approximate for ET950-70H-10K chamber):
Full cascade continuous operation: Approx 35 kW
With ambient optimization logic active: 27 kW
Average reduction: 7 kW during steady cycling
Saving: 20%
Over one year of operation, this translates to significant cost savings making it a strong ROI discussion point.
The fitting of the Energy Saving system to the chambers greatly reduces the power consumption of the environmental test chambers so increases the efficiency of the test chambers and improves the efficiency of the chambers. This in turn reduces the costs significantly during the operation of the chambers.
