Adjustable Pallet Racking

Adjustable Pallet Racking

Adjustable Pallet Racking is a material handling storage system designed to store materials and products on pallets. Pallet racking allows for the storage of palletised stock to be stored in horizontal rows with multiple levels, which has become an essential part of most modern warehouses and factories.

All types of pallet racking increase storage capacity of the stored goods, by using this storage solution you can increase your storage density in a cost-effective way. It is also possible to add lower level picking points for loose storage items. The great advantage of adjustable pallet racking is its flexibility, coming in almost endless variety of sizes and weight capacity as well as being able to be reconfigured to suit your needs as things change.

OutRacking can help you design your warehouse or storage area to optimise your storage capability and ensure that you get the right pallet racking system for your needs. OutRacking works closely with manufacturers and can offer many varieties of racking systems. These systems can be fitted by OutRacking with one of our SEMA qualified teams, working hard to fulfill your storage requirements.
Longspan Racking & Shelving

Longspan Racking & Shelving

Longspan Shelving systems are very versatile storage solutions, which are primarily designed for manual picking and a low level boxed storage of medium and small materials. Weight capacity for these systems can very depending on your nees with some systems being capable of holding in excess of 1,000kg.

This racking can be adapted to any type of unit load and comes in a variety of sizes to suit your needs. Longspan shelving can be integrated into heavy duty pallet racking to allow for a low level picking area underneath bulk storage.

Normally its easy to install and can come with adjustable shelf heights and variable number of shelves as required.
Longspan can also be used as part of a multi level structure making it possible for this type of racking to increase in height without compromising performance and allowing hand picking to be easy without the aid of steps or Mobile platforms.

With this type of racking systems they are normally boarded with chip board but there are options to have gravel drop inserts, making it suitable for food storage and for freezer/cold storage areas.
Cantilever Racking

Cantilever Racking

This Racking system is flexible to allow the storage of longer items such as piping, timbers and long panels as well large construction components.

Cantilever Racks consist of vertical columns with adjustable cantilever arms, which the products are placed across, these arms can be set at different heights depending on your requirements. This system can be used either as a single sided arrangement or the system can be utilised by attaching arms to both sides.

This racking system can be perfect for use outside because of its hardwearing structure as well as indoor use. These bespoke systems can be manufactured to many different specifications for light weight storage to the very largest. There’s even a domestic version for office supply’s.

At OutRacking we can design the perfect system to meet your exact needs and integrate it into your existing warehouse operation. We can offer a huge range of uprights and cantilever arms with numerous yield strengths.

Our team can help Design and plan an installation of a customised system that fits your needs perfectly.
Anti-Collapse Mesh

Anti-Collapse Mesh

Anti-collapse Mesh is a product that can be fitted to the back of both Longspan racking and Pallet racking to prevent push through of products.

Fitted to the rear of a storage structure, it forms a safety barrier to the rear of the structure to protect working areas, walkways and office units as well as being used as a way to protect walls and warehouse structures being damaged by forklifts as stock is loaded and unloaded for the racks.

This safety product can be insisted upon by a safety audit as a measure to protect staff and visitors to your site.

At OutRacking we can design and fit a bespoke Anti-collapse system integrating it with your existing system or as part of a new project. This meshing system can be used in conjunction with our partitioning system to create secure storage areas for more sensitive stock.

Our teams are highly experienced and qualified and can work with you to ensure you get the very best service possible.
Safety Netting

Safety Netting

Safety netting is rapidly becoming a product of choice as apposed to the more traditional Anti-collapse meshing system.

This product is incredibly versatile with many applications, not just for the back of pallet racking but used as barriers, cordoning off areas, safety application for multi level systems and to enclose mezzanine work areas.

This product can be fitted directly to a structure or be hung off arms that allow for over hang, it can also be fitted from floor to ceiling even if the racking doesn’t.

Its also relatively easy to install reducing the installation costs.

Its flexibility means it is less prone to damage compared to other options, so is longer lasting and low maintenance.
Barriers & Handrails

Barriers & Handrails

These protective devices can help in a number of ways, not only in protecting the racking but used to help designate areas and prevent forklift and equipment from entering pedestrianised areas. They are a great way to reduce damage at the end of racking structures where truck traffic is at its highest. They can be used to protect offices and machinery as well.

There are many different types of barriers and it is essential to pick the right one for you to ensure it does the right job some barries may be unsuitable for environments such as freezer units where there are restricted drilling depths and where there is the possibility of sublevel damage to your floor. Here at OutRacking we can advise you on which type would best suit your needs. We can supply and fit all type of barriers making sure that the floor is suitable and the installation is correct.
Column Guards

Column Guards

At Outracking we always recommend wherever possible that the racking is protected.

Column guards are a great way to prevent accidental damage from trucks operating within the racking.

Most common damage is caused within the first metre of the ground where trucks have either reversed into them or frames have been hit by trucks with restricted vision due to loads.

Column guards are the best way to minimise these damages and can significantly reduce repair and maintenance bills.

Being easy to fit and very hard wearing these items are a cost effective measure against damages.

There are many different varieties of Column guards, it is important to get the right one as an ill fitted guard will do very little and not all guards will fit around the foot of all racking systems.

If you have any questions please feel free to email us and we will try our very best to give you the right advice.

Apart from being used to make work areas partitioning can be used to make a secure area for sensitive stock or files. Partitioning can be integrated with an anti-collapse mesh system on your racking to create a completely secure storage area with the capability of being locked from general access.
Timber Decking

Timber Decking

Timber decking is suitable to help support pallets and help pallets sit safely across Pallet racking beams, making loading and unloading easier for drivers and so reduce loading times and improving safety.

There are a few different types of Timber decks: Open slat desk, Closed timber decking both can be produced to fit nearly any size of pallet racking and come either in a rough finish of plained.

They can also help if you are storing unusual sized loads with in the rack.

With a hard wire mesh construction they allow a lot more light to pass through which is ideal if lighting is a little low. Whereas wooden decking obviously comes with a fire risk there is no such issues with mesh decking. It is also weather resistant, so it is perfect for structures outside and in temperature controlled areas such as freezers. It is also more hygienic than wood, so is a preferred product by many of the food industry’s.

This type of product can be fitted with with a number of pallet support bars to enhance the structure, giving even weight distribution and support across the racking beams. Racking Inspections

Racking Inspections

Pallet Racking inspections are a a vital part of the safe running of a warehouse and is a statutory requirement under Health and safety Legislation. This inspection should be carried out at least once a year by a SEMA Approved Racking Inspector “SARI.” It is also advised that a inspection is carried out with configuration changes or at the end of a new racking build project. Pallet Racking is classified under PUWER regulations for work equipment and such requires regular maintenance and inspections carried out by a suitably qualified person.

Why Racking Inspections are needed?
Racking Repairs

Racking Repairs

Maintaining your pallet racking system is important, whether you’re a small or large company, warehouse storage systems and pallet racking can get damaged!

This reduces the maximum weight that can be stored, thus making it unfit for use and a possible danger to your employees. Damage to racking can contribute to a weakened structure, resulting to a possible racking collapse. There are many factors that contribute to an unsafe pallet racking system, such as missing floor fixing bolts or locking pins. An over-loaded level by putting too much weight at a single point can damage the beams and of course careless driving of forklift operators can damage both beams and the framework.
