The Project ...

Ryebrook Resins were delighted to have been chosen by UK Real Estates Ltd to help them with the refurbishment and rejuvenation of their external wharf area.

Project Requirements

The client was looking for a flooring that could stop the water penetrating through to the wharf, stopping any damage occuring; along with improving the aesthetic of the wharf for the residents and tenants of the building.

Tim Squirrell recommended a polymer bonded screed, a durable product with flexural strength to provide additional strength to the wharf. Finished with Remmers Pur Grip 100, selected for its binding application, anti-skid system, flexibility and aesthetic finish.  A brittany bronze aggregate was selected for the wharf.

The Project

Rain put a delay to the start of the project for our team, but once on-site the team prepared the substrate surface ready for screeding. The clients on-site maintenance team had removed the furniture, planters and lowest level of timber claddng of the perimeter wall prior to our arrival.

A polymer bonded screed was laid to falls, and the datum marked out and set by laser level. The existing expansion joints were followed throught into the newly laid screed.

Once the screed had cured, the team primed the total area, before beginning to lay the resin coating bay by bay (expansion joint to expansion joint) over a two day period.
