The 30,000sq ft manufacturing premises offers a full range of production capabilities including specialist sheet metal forming equipment.

Production of the highly specialised vitreous enamel signs is undertaken on site at Redhill in Surrey, just 20 miles from Central London. Recent investment in a sophisticated energy management scheme allows the company to maximise its cost efficiency whilst reducing the environmental impact.

Crossrail Signs was formed to help pool resources and expertise to gain economies of scale and a well rounded capability base, which could then be utilised by the project contractors. Stocksigns is the only UK company to both manufacture and install vitreous enamel signage and Links Signs has specialist installation experience and so are the complete partnership to provide signs for the Crossrail project.

Crossrail Signs are positioned to be able to help architects and designers at an early stage to avoid design concerns further down the line. Their comprehensive experience in the industry enables them to be ‘up to speed’ at a very early stage in the project, already briefed in the correct protocol and aware of potential problems that may be encountered during projects of this scale. This very early participation means that Crossrail Signs can work with designers and TfL to develop and refine the product whilst keeping the brand image.

In a recent press release issued by TfL, following the announcement of the Government’s decision to protect the Crossrail programme from reduction in scope or funding, Terry Morgan, chairman for the Crossrail project, said “Crossrail will persevere in delivering value for money and we continue to find the most cost-effective solutions to deliver this world-class affordable railway.”

The Crossrail scheme will benefit from the working together of Stocksigns and Links Signs. “By combining the expertise of both Stocksigns and Links Signs this will provide a cost-effective ‘one-stop-shop’ solution to the Crossrail scheme,” said Mr. Bruce Main, managing director of Stocksigns.
