Being Green is Good for Charity as well as the Environment
Stocksigns was awarded the contract for supply and install external signage for a major refurbishment and re-branding project for Anchor. As part of the programme Stocksigns collected the “old style” aluminium signs from the sites and sent them for recycling. The scrap aluminium value was then past on directly to the Anchor Trust’s Legacy Fund. The Legacy Fund was set up to enhance recreational facilities and activities for their residents. The project ran over a 6 month period and included the surveying and installation of signs to 750 Independent Living Locations and 98 Care Homes. The design changes were carried out to raise the profile of the Anchor brand and create uniformity across all their sites confirming the “one Anchor, many choices” message.
Anjella Underwood, Stocksigns’ Project Manager said “Stocksigns is continually looking at ways to reduce our impact on the environment. For this project alone we created a “Stocksigns Midlands” hub to reduce our carbon footprint and lessen travelling for our staff. Raising revenue for the charity, from the recycling programme, was an added bonus”.
Sean Wheatley, Contracts Manager for Anchor Trust said “I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the Stocksigns' Team involved with the Anchor signage implementation projects and their sterling work on completing the “external signage” element of the project. It has at times been a challenging project, handled with professionalism that has now become the Stocksigns' Standard and Anchor Expectation.”
Sean, who set up the programme, will now hand over the day to day running of the signage projects to Sarah Finch, who has taken over from Sean as the new Contracts Manager and will see the projects through to completion.
Stocksigns is pleased to confirm that as a result of the success of the external programme they will shortly be undertaking a new internal signage roll out across Anchor’s Leasehold locations and this will run over the summer.
