Rare Metal Thermocouples

Rare Metal Thermocouples

Rare Metal thermocouples are made from conductors containing platinum and rhodium alloys and are suited for measuring high temperatures up to +1700°C. They are a rugged design, suited for tough industrial use. We manufacture and design rare metal thermocouple assemblies
Base Metal Thermocouples

Base Metal Thermocouples

We manufacture and design base metal thermocouple assemblies. Base metal thermocouples are made from conductors containing nickel alloys and depending on thermocouple type are suited for measuring temperatures between -270 to +1300°C. They are a rugged design, suited for tough industrial use.
Mineral Insulated Thermocouples

Mineral Insulated Thermocouples

We manufacture and design mineral insulated thermocouples. Mineral insulated thermocouples consist of an outer metal sheath which protects the thermocouple elements from damage and contamination, this sheath is malleable so mineral insulated thermocouples can be easily bent and formed into a variety of shapes to suit your application. The inner thermocouple elements are insulated with magnesium oxide powder, tightly packed so no air is trapped inside, this provides great thermal conductivity.
Cable Thermocouples

Cable Thermocouples

We manufacture and design cable thermocouples, often called wire thermocouples. Cable thermocouples are a very cost effective construction of thermocouple with many options available to attach the sensor to your process. Exposed junctions are common with wire thermocouples as it gives a very quick response. The maximum temperature for a cable thermocouple is determined by its insulation but there are high temperature options such as glass fibre if required.
Thermocouple Inserts

Thermocouple Inserts

Thermocouple Inserts are commonly used in pocket, thermowell or head assemblies. They are constructed with thermocouple elements insulated and protected by mineral insulated powder, which is then packed inside a rigid metal tube. They are very similar to mineral insulated thermocouples but they cannot be bent to shape.
Thermocouple Elements

Thermocouple Elements

As well as full thermocouples we can supply basic thermocouple elements either uninsulated or insulated for further assembly into sheaths or equipment.
Mineral Insulated RTDs

Mineral Insulated RTDs

We manufacture and design mineral insulated resistance thermometers. Resistance thermometers are often called platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs), resistance thermometer detectors (RTDs) or simply Pt100 sensors. Mineral insulated resistance thermometers consists of an external metal sheath which protects the P100 element from damage and contamination. This outer sheath is insulated with magnesium oxide powder, tightly packed so no air is trapped inside. This not only gives great thermal conductivity but mineral insulated RTD can be bent into a variety of shapes to suit your application.
Cable Resistance Thermometers

Cable Resistance Thermometers

We manufacture and design cable resistance thermometers, often called cable RTD Pt100, cable Pt100, Pt 100 sensors or Pt 100 thermocouples. Cable resistance thermometers are very cost-effective for temperature measurements below 260°C, although some designs are good up to 500°C. The construction of a cable resistance thermometer consists of a RTD element, often a Pt100 securely attached to a length of cable. The Pt100 element can then be protected in a number of ways and designed to get the best measurement from your process. The maximum temperature for a cable resistance thermometer is determined by its insulation but there are high-temperature options such as glass fibre if required.
Resistance Thermometer Inserts

Resistance Thermometer Inserts

Resistance Thermometer Inserts are commonly used in pocket, thermowell or head assemblies. They are constructed with Pt100 sensors insulated and protected by mineral insulated powder, which is then packed inside a rigid metal tube. They are very similar to mineral insulated resistance thermometers but they cannot be bent to shape.
Resistance Thermometer Elements

Resistance Thermometer Elements

As well as full resistance thermometers we can supply basic resistance elements either uninsulated or insulated for further assembly into sheaths or equipment.
Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors (Anti-Vibration)

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors (Anti-Vibration)

Thermocouples to measure the temperature of exhaust gases are a key element of modern engine management. Measuring the temperature of exhaust gas can provide an important input into system algorithms to improve efficiency, reduce pollutants and extend engine life. Peak Sensors manufacture exhaust gas temperature sensors for a wide variety of automotive brands and projects.

An Aluminium Remelt Sensor is used in the secondary processing of aluminium. It is a very inexpensive solution to measuring the temperature of molten aluminium.
POX CO Reactor Thermocouple Probe

POX CO Reactor Thermocouple Probe

A POX Probe, sometimes know as a CO reactor thermocouple, is a special design of thermocouple sensor found in partial oxidation plants. Partial Oxidation Plants are used to form hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide or Synthesis Gas (syngas). A typical assembly consists of a ceramic sheath at the hot end of the probe. Followed by an Inconel coating for further temperature resistance. A forged flange, which is them fitted and welded to the sheath. Finally an RTJ is used to press the flange and the sheath together, forming a pressure seal. This assembly can work effectively at temperatures with a maximum of 1500°C.
Glass Level Electrode Sensor

Glass Level Electrode Sensor

A Glass Level Electrode (GLE) is a sensor that is used to detect the level of glass in a forehearth during certain glass manufacturing processes. A platinum pin makes contact with the glass surface, and an electrical circuit is closed. This produces a signal when this occurs. We can construct glass level electrodes exactly to your specifications or drawings.
Soil Temperature Probe (Compost)

Soil Temperature Probe (Compost)

Commercial composting demands good soil temperature measurement and control. Elevated soil temperatures are required for throughput management and legal compliance. A compost temperature sensor is often used to measure the temperature of the composting process. We can supply watertight temperature sensors suitable as soil probes for commercial composting.
Glass Bubbler Assembly

Glass Bubbler Assembly

Glass Bubblers are used in various glass manufacturing processes to inject gas into molten glass. The stirring effect of the gas flow, allows rapid colour changes to take place. As well as this by stirring the glass with a glass bubbler, hot spot bubbling can take

place which improves the overall quality of the glass produced.
We can design and supply industrial glass bubblers which are designed and manufactured to your specification for use in new or existing glass bubbler systems. This may include changing the size of the gas duct holes, or changing the gas fittings at the cold end of the glass bubbler. Common designs include an inconel outer sheath with a recrystallised alumina inner tube.

Thermistor Probes & Assemblies

Thermistor Probes & Assemblies

We specialise in the manufacture of thermocouples and resistance thermometers and this expertise translates in the manufacture of thermistor assemblies. Each year we supply volumes of thermistor sensors both for one-off and repeating contracts. Our thermistor assemblies are used in a variety of near ambient applications in many industries including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, dairy farming and instrumentation manufacture (such as weather stations and hand held instruments).
Thermowells for Temperature Sensors

Thermowells for Temperature Sensors

Thermowells are small tubular fittings which are used in temperature measurement to protect the temperature sensor from damage that could occur during an industrial process. Thermowells are otherwise commonly known as solid drilled pockets as they consist of a metal bar stock that is drilled to create an open end where the sense is inserted. If the sensor was to break during application, the user could easily replace the existing sensor with a new one.

Common uses of thermowells are very similar to that of other components. They can be used in both an existing temperature sensor setup or can be added to a new design specification. They are used in many high temperature applications because they can work effectively up to temperatures surrounding 1200 °C.
