Hull firm celebrates 21 years in 2017

A local galvanizing firm is marking its silver anniversary as part of the ongoing Hull 2017 celebrations across the region.
Humber Galvanizing, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, is celebrating 21 years since opening its doors in March 1996 on the Citadel Trading Park in Kingston-Upon-Hull.The company, which is also Business Club member of Hull City of Culture 2017, works with customers across the region to provide specialist hot-dip galvanizing treatments to fabricated steelwork.
Tony Linsley, Sales Manager at Humber Galvanizing, explained: “We’re absolutely delighted to be marking this special anniversary in business, and in celebrating it alongside the buzz generated by the fantastic team at Hull 2017, who are working hard to shine a light on the city and showcase all that it has to offer to the rest of the UK and beyond.”
The plant has remained a part of the fabric of the city for the past two decades, having been operational at the Citadel Trading Park since its inception. One member of staff, Mark Allan, has recently joined Wedge Group’s 21 Club to recognise employees who have served 21 years at the company, and who receive a commemorative watch and a dinner each year. There are currently 120 employees past and present who are part of the 21 Club.
Humber Galvanizing’s work can be traced across the region and the UK, including the eye-catching Lady of Shalott sculpture on the River Witham, railing restorations surrounding York’s famous city walls, as well as at the Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm.
