AFC Energy required a lab construction specialist to provide a technical solution for the conversion of a 12,000 sq ft empty aircraft hangar. Their goal was to create a state-of-the-art testing and manufacturing facility within a challenging timeframe.

Biofortuna were looking for an experienced lab fit out company with creative and technical ability to complete the conversion of the 16,500 sq ft empty warehouse shell. A specialist knowledge of lab fit out was critical to undertake this demanding project. It was a priority to create a positive experience for employees and visiting clients.

JPL have seen significant expansion since the were founded in 2014. Their existing facility has limited space, is spread across 3 buildings and no longer meets their requirements.

The new facility will offer cutting edge technology for flavour development and double the size of the current site, with additional space for further expansion. There will be the benefit of all staff being located in one building and a significant improvement in JPL’s research and development capability.

Bevie services the fermentation sector, both the homebrew market and the commercial alcoholic drinks sector, supplying breweries and distilleries globally. Following expansion they required a specialist laboratory fit out company to transform their outdated lab into a technical facility to showcase their innovative R & D capability. The workflow needed to be improved and the footprint expanded to accommodate 8 technical staff and a flexible area for high profile visitor tastings. Furniture and equipment were to be installed, including a gas chromatograph, a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and various meters. The equipment is used for new product development and quality testing of Bevie’s extensive range. The project scope also included the management and reconnection of specialist gases.

Discovery Park is nationally recognised as a life sciences opportunities zone with an expanding community of over 160 high-growth companies. The science park extends over a significant area and offers laboratory space for a range of Incubator labs.

The priority for this prestigious project was to provide a solution offering the maximum flexibility in terms of the lab furniture and layouts for the new biotech block.

Sciex relocated to new premises establishing their Centre of Innovation to provide a base for technical support, demo and application development teams.

The brief was to design & fit lab furniture for 5 new laboratories to showcase their mass spectrometry product portfolio and to allow for client demonstrations.

Aptamer Group is a biotech company which specialises in creating aptamers, also known as synthetic antibodies, to be used in diagnosis or to deliver drugs which help to fight a range of diseases including cancer. Following rapid expansion Aptamer moved to new premises at York Science Park where they hope to attract talent from the University of York.

Pozzoni approached Klick to provide a design service for the layouts of the laboratories and to engage with the college to fully understand their requirements. Klick liaised with all parties, producing 3D drawings using Revit and refining the designs until all the layouts were approved.

Brookfield’s science & technology facilities were in need of modernising. Klick were recommended by staff at Redhill Academy Trust as they had already completed successful refurbishment projects for other schools in the trust.

Klick discussed project feasibility, making design suggestions to improve the functionality and layouts, to create an inspirational hub for students.
