Yeovil College Joins the Environ College Programme

24 November 2008

Twenty beauty therapy students at Yeovil College in Somerset successfully completed their first advanced skincare training course this term, after the college became the newest member of the Environ College Programme.

The five day course has been specially created to provide in-depth training to complement the NVQ level three students’ curriculum.  The programme positions the lecturer an integral part of the College’s own staff, enhancing the content of the skincare module.  It also includes further refresher training prior to examinations or assessments and before graduation.

The Yeovil pre-graduates were introduced to the concepts of Environ as a cosmeceutical brand and to the importance of skin care and skin health, using a range of theoretical and practical approaches.

Yeovil College programme manager Jennie Workman says “The course was very professionally taught and the lecturer introduced a depth of skincare knowledge that our own team rarely have time to teach. The class learnt not only the functions and benefits of ingredients, but also how they work in the skin.

“Our students can expect to graduate with an excellent grounding for the workplace that will help them to provide truly effective care for their clients,”   adds Jennie.
