New Business builds with support from Environ Skin Care

16 June 2009

When she began planning to open her first beauty salon at Christmas, beauty therapist Brona Cassidy had not envisaged the economic slump that could have blighted her dream almost before it had started.

Switching from working as an independent mobile therapist to buying premises to create a contemporary salon with four treatment rooms to offer a broader range of services would be daunting for most at the best of times. Yet now, despite the recession, Bronas' High Maintenance salon in Nobber, Co. Meath, is blossoming and offering a broader range of treatments including skincare, spray tanning, micro dermabrasion and hair removal. She credits the decision to employ a therapist to help her fulfil her clients’ needs and offering Environ Ionzyme facial treatments and skin analysis, with helping to build up her small business.

Brona qualified as a beauty therapist in 1991, but took time out from work to raise her two children, and had been specialising in laser hair removal for the past four years. ”People already knew me as a hair removal specialist. Now I am gaining a reputation, particularly among my 30 plus age clients for giving them the anti-ageing results and fresh looking skin they haven’t experienced with high street retail products.”

Bronas' next aim is to get her clients to come in more frequently for regular facials. With such a determined attitude, no doubt she will succeed.
